Healthier Soulz, LLC is a enterprise that was created to help promote healthier lifestyles for people in communities across Chicago. With obesity rates in the state of Illinois being close to 32%* and 61.2%* of that population residing in the City of Chicago, Founder & CEO, Dexter Guthrie (Chef Dex) is committed to educating people on how to eat, live and be healthy! Our mission is to engage youth and families in underserved communities (and beyond) to help them reach their healthiest state of being in mind, body and soul.
Healthier Soulz, LLC strives to accomplish it’s mission by partnering with community schools, organizations , businesses and leaders to provide education, live demonstrations and classes on healthier alternatives for eating and living. Chef Dex envisions that by 2030, Healthier Soulz, LLC will be one of the premier organizations in Chicago with visibility in surrounding cities, that will contribute to the reduction of obesity rates amongst youth and families. Striving to have a positive impact on the health of others one soul at a time!

PROJECTED OUTCOMES
Our goal at Healthier Soulz, LLC is to ensure that we’re impacting the health of lives… one soul at time and project to reach the following outcomes:
80% of participants will show an increase in their knowledge of foods, produce and nutrition.
75% of participants will show an increase in their ability to prepare healthy recipes.
70% of participants will show an increase in healthier food choices and alternatives.
*Data will be tracked for in and out of school programs by way of health assessments, surveys and pre & post tests.
SERVING CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS
With national child overweight and obesity rates being 36.5%* (kindergartners) and 48.6%* (sixth graders), Chicago Public Schools accounting for 24.1%* (kindergarteners) and 39%* (sixth graders) of the population, our aim is to partner with CPS and other school districts to help with the reduction of adolescent obesity rates.
